Curcumin relieves sinusitis
Curcumin is a polyphenolic substance proposed from Turmeric, which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. In a 2016 double-blind control clinical study,[19] 241 patients with allergic rhinitis were divided into a control group taking 500mg curcumin a day and a placebo-only control group. The results showed that the curcumin intervention group had a significant reduction in respiratory congestion. The subjects' inflammatory cytokines including IL-4, IL-8 and TNF-α were all reduced. The conclusion of the study is that curcumin may be able to regulate the immune system of patients with allergic rhinitis to make patients' breathing more smooth.
